On January 28, 2026, the FBI confiscated hundreds of boxes of secured election materials relating to the 2020 election from the Fulton County, Ga. Board of Elections facility.  This was done in response to President Trump’s continued “Stop the Steal” campaign, aka, “The Big Lie.”  Since the Constitution provides that elections are a matter for state and local officials, this event raises serious concerns on multiple levels and represents a major escalation in the Administration’s efforts to influence elections in our nation.  The ICCV Legislative Committee assesses that the risk to free and fair mid-term elections in 2026 is rising, and that the risk stems from the activities of President Trump and the Department of Justice.

WHAT TO DO

Please contact your elected officials (see HOW TO DO IT below) with the following message:

-              Object to the January 28 FBI raid on the Fulton County Board of Elections facility.

-              Elections are under the purview of state and local authorities, and this constitutes illegitimate interference.

-              The 2020 election, specifically in Fulton County has been thoroughly litigated, and NO evidence of irregularities has been found.

-              This action by the executive branch of our government is very likely a preview of other actions that will interfere with free and fair 2026 mid-term elections.
